Choosing the right doctor, and understanding what they say

We choose the right doctor for your condition. And when the doctor gives you options that are hard to take in, we explain them in a way you’ll understand, so you can decide with confidence. Our team can come to the consultation with you.

How we help

You decide what should be done. We make sure you have what you need to decide well.

  • Listen to your situation and choose the right doctor or specialist for your condition
  • Book the consultation for you
  • Come with you to the appointment if you would like support
  • Explain what the doctor said, and the options, in a way you understand
  • Answer your family’s questions and help you plan the next steps

Before your first consultation

A little preparation helps you get more from the visit.

  • Collect earlier reports, scans, prescriptions and discharge papers
  • Make a list of the medicines the patient takes now
  • Note the symptoms, when they started and what makes them better or worse
  • Write down your questions so nothing is forgotten
  • Carry photo ID and any insurance details

Questions worth asking the doctor

Every situation is different, but these are a good start. If an answer is hard to follow, we will go through it with you.

  • What is the diagnosis, and how sure are we?
  • What are the options, including waiting before treating?
  • What are the risks and the expected recovery time for each option?
  • What happens at the next step, and what should we watch for?
  • When is the follow-up, and who do we contact with questions?

What to tell us when you get in touch

A few words are enough to start. Please do not send medical reports through the website form.

  • Who needs support: you or a family member
  • The health problem in a sentence or two
  • Which city the patient is in, and any doctor or hospital already involved
  • What kind of help you are looking for

Sevagan provides guidance and coordination, not medical diagnosis or treatment. Medical decisions stay with you and your doctors. In a medical emergency, call 108 or 112 or go to the nearest hospital.

Do you choose the doctor for me?

Yes. We listen to your situation, choose the right doctor for your condition and tell you why. The final decision is always yours.

The doctor gave us options and we didn't understand. Can you help?

Yes. That is one of the most common reasons families call us. We go through what the doctor said, in a way you understand, so you can decide. Medical advice itself always comes from your doctor.

Yes. Our team goes along with patients to help. Tell us what support you would like.

Does this replace my own doctor's advice?

No. We help you find the right doctor and understand what they say. Diagnosis and treatment decisions stay with your doctors.
